ABC Book Club is an amazing South-London-based charity which takes donations of pre-loved books from families whose children have outgrown them, and then redonates them to schools, often building them an amazing brand new library in the process.

I’ve been lucky enough to work on a large number of their projects as lead graphic designer, and I am an advocate for the incredible work they do.

As a result of years of underfunding, combined with the onslaught of phones and other technological distractions, schools are struggling to get kids to enjoy reading. School libraries are often run-down and stocked with boring, out-of-date books, or sometimes just non-existent.

Study after study has shown that children who read for pleasure can generally expect a higher quality of life as they grow up, with more career opportunities and better mental health as key factors.
